The majority of recent research in has been focused on the introduction, development, and evaluation performance-based specifications for design asphalt concrete mixtures. In Caribbean, most laboratories only use Volumetric Marshall Mix methodology. Road designers, engineers, consultants, contractors have all highlighted many shortcomings inadequacies volumetric mix selection process. consensus is that there a need to develop process addresses service’s performance common distress pavements through design.
